K-Songs To Associate with Autumn

There’s a song for every mood or time of year. Autumn brings to mind memories of seasons passed. As winter approaches and a new year soon begins, we reflect on those moments. This season also gives off a cozy vibe, like a house that stays warm while the temperature continues to drop outside each day.

Here are some K-pop, Krnb, and K-indie songs that I associate with autumn, and maybe you should too!

Bonfire

This song, by Korean indie band Wave To Earth, explores the theme of change and the impermanence of things. The singer asks what color their sky is and what “color” his partner's emotions are. He tells his partner to feel the wind as the bonfire fades out, and he thinks that maybe he’s falling with the rain.

And are the first two lyrics not exactly describing autumn?

All the leaves have been fallen off

The branches are small

Autumn Leaves

The title of this song by BTS makes it an obvious fall playlist addition. However, there’s more to it than just some dead leaves. The lyrics play out an analogy between the leaves withering and a love that’s slowly dying out. One of the lovers clinging to a memory, but the relationship is a lost cause.

This is a perfect song to allow for some reflection time, if that’s what you want. And if not, it simply sounds beautiful.

Moving On

This next song by BTS is one that reflects on the idea of change and the emotions that come with leaving a place that was once home. It’s about the group moving from their first place where they were living together as trainees, and how they are leaving those memories behind.

The song emits strong feelings of nostalgia, and it has a sweet sound. There’s a sense of comfort that this song passes onto the listener, and its theme of change suits this season very well.

Restless

To be honest, the true meaning of this song doesn’t relate to change, or the past. Krnb singer Bibi explained that her song is about the feeling of restlessness she experiences while waiting for someone to love.

Its real fall vibes come from this ballad’s slow and mellow qualities. The guitar part, in particular, also evokes a sort of longing, which could be nostalgia for certain memories if you have them.

People

Agust D is the stage name for BTS’ Yoongi when he makes music as a soloist. In this song by him, Yoongi alludes to the people he’s met, and the fact that they all change (including himself). You could interpret it as a lament of the fact that nothing stays forever, or a positive reassurance that people are capable of switching attitudes.

The people who love you today can hate you tomorrow, and those who hate you today can love you tomorrow.

Perhaps you can ponder these two interpretations this season.

KnoCK

Krnb music producer Code Kunst created this song with peak autumn vibes. It’s both calming and melancholic. You might imagine a chilly day with a slight breeze while you listen to the featured singer, Yerin Baek’s, gentle vocals.

The lyrics are about someone knocking at the door of your heart, but the music video follows Code Kunst as he finds a listless driver who’s also trapped in traffic like himself. If you’ve ever experienced a similar phase in your life, then this song will be ideal to accompany your reflection time.
